Le Corbusier House 14/15 – Stuttgart Weissenhof

Highslide JS
House "Le Corbusier House 14/15" in Stuttgart's Weissenhofsiedlung.

In autumn 2006 the Weissenhof Museum of the Stuttgart Weissenhof Estate was opened at the house Le Corbusier. The twin house was renovated in it's original style form 1927 when it was build. The left bigger part of the house locates the museum about the histroy of the Weissenhof Estate.

Even 80 years after the construction of the estate the buildings with their mostly white facades and their linear design still looks not only modern but futuristic. The clear design with the linear style seems to be very close to the geometry of LEGO bricks so I thought I could build a model of this architecture landmark "House 14/15" by Le Corbusier (1887-1965) and Pierre Janneret (1896-1967).

Rathenaustreet at Stuttgart's Weissenhofsiedlung.

The Rathenaustreet 1-3 in Stuttgart becomes more and more a mecca for architects and art students from all over the world. This twin house is located in a supereb area of the city and offers a great view down to the valley of Stuttgart. This is reflected in the wide window bar in the main story of the building and the outside gallery on top of the building.

View into the main living area of the bigger part of the house. You can see the kitchen and the tiny little bathroom. The living and sleeping area is not strictly separated. The idea was to use the same room for serveral purposes.
